BEFORE PLAY BEGINS, ALL CHARACTERS WILL INTRODUCE THEIR ROLE IN THE STORY!!




SCENE 1 - It is early Christmas Eve. The elves were sitting around a fire after they had finished making gifts.


ELF 1 (Spirit) - Here is to another Christmas!


ELF 2 (Wish) - Hear hear!


ELF 3 (Jingle) - Hey! Have you elves heard of Santa’s legend?


Elf 2 (Wish) - Obviously! How he delivers gifts to the kids, yada, yada, yada.


Elf 3 (Jingle) - Yeah, but this one is different!


Elf 1 (Spirit) - What do you mean?


Elf 3 (Jingle) - *ominous voice* Legend has it that a dark figure going by the name of Evil Dude(tte) swept over the Santa and Elf kingdom and ripped it from the heart of Christmas magic. Santa battled with Evil Dude(tte) and banished him to a faraway land. Unfortunately, Evil Dude(tte) had one last curse before he left, Santa would never be able to stop him again. Santa banished him for a hundred years, and tonight is the hundredth year!


Elf 2 (Wish) - *scared* So, so, he may come tonight?!


Elf 3 (Jingle) - YES!


Elf 1 (Spirit) - Oh, come on! You both are being silly!


*EVERYONE STARTS GIGGLING*


TECHIE cues “BOOM!”


Elf 1 (Spirit) - WHAT WAS THAT?!


Elf 2 (Wish) - I DON’T KNOW!


Elf 3 (Jingle) - AAH!


Techie turns off the lights


Pre-Recorded Message played by Evil Dude(tte) - Good morning, my little puppet-elves! Awwww? Can’t find your Santa? Good, because I took him! You have until midnight to find him. If not? Bye-bye Christmas. *Evil Laughter*


Techie turns on lights and throws a map (paper) into the air.


MAP CONTAINS TWO PLACES


Treacherous Trees


Lunatic Lights


Elf 1 (Spirit) - It looks like we have to go through Treacherous Trees and LUNATIC LIGHTS?! What is this? Urgh. This is the only way we can get to Evil Dude(tte)’s hidden HQ.


Elf 2 (Wish) - Spirit, I don’t care! I’m going to save Santa, NO MATTER WHAT!


Elf 3 (Jingle) - YEAH!


Elf 1 (Spirit) - LET’S DO IT!


Techie comes on - Hello everyone! Hope you are enjoying the show so far! We will have a quick 1-2 minute break so we can prepare for the next scene. Enjoy the rest of the show.


Scene 2 - Set in the Treacherous Trees environment.


Elf 2 (Wish) - It isn’t so bad.


Techie cues lion roar


Elf 3 (Jingle) - Or not.


Elf 1 (Spirit) - Yes, let’s go with ‘or not’.


Techie starts setting up trees everywhere.


Elf 1 (Spirit) - Wait, which way from here?


Elf 3 (Jingle) - The map just has a big question mark on it.


Elf 2 (Wish) - Oh no! Are we lost?!


Elf 1 (Spirit) - *sigh*, I believe so.


Elf 3 (Jingle) - NOW WHAT?


Techie cues magical music. Witch appears


Witch - Fear not my friends, for I am the Great Celeste and I shall get you out of this maze!


Elf 2 (Wish) - AAH! AAAAAAAH! WITCH!


Witch (Celeste) - No, no! I won’t hurt you!


Elf 3 (Jingle) - *sighs*Okay, Ms. Witch. Can you help us?


Witch (Celeste) - Please, call me Celeste. Ok! *waves magic wand*


Techie cues “poof!” and lights flicker on and off a couple of times.


Elf 1 (Spirit) - Woah! Thanks! Now on to Lunatic Lights!


Witch (Celeste) - Wait! Can I come? PLEASEEEE?!


Elf 2 (Wish) - Well, I guess you did help us! Yea!


Techie comes on and says - Thank you for all your patience so far! We will need a minute to prep for the next scene. 


Scene 3 - In Lunatic Lights. Giant appears.


Elf 2 (Wish) - Come on! We have to save Santa!


Witch (Celeste) - Okey Dokey!


Elf 1 (Spirit) - How do we plan to battle Evil Dude(tte)? We are almost at his HQ.


Elf 3 (Jingle) - Hmmm…..*when no one watches, he throws some marbles on the floor*.


Witch (Celeste) - Maybe we could—*trips on the marbles and wand slips out*. OUCH!


Elf 1 (Spirit) - OMG! Are you okay?


Elf 2 (Wish) - Where does it hurt?


Elf 3 (Jingle) - *picks up wand and starts laughing*


Elf 1 (Spirit) - Jingle! What are you doing?!


Elf 2 (Wish) - Is something funny. Oh, oh, a joke!


Witch (Celeste) - Where is my wand?


Elf 3 (Jingle) - Haha! I have it! Evil Dude(tte) is going to be very pleased when I bring him back this wand! But first, a little fun!


Techie cues spell sound and make the lights flicker on and off.


Elf 2 (Wish) - AAH!


Techie comes on and battles the witch and two elves with jump ropes(lights). Giant looks like a tree and is battling with the elves and witch.


Elf 3 (Jingle) - *walks out of the scene and turns off the lights* He cues the fighting sounds.


Techie turns lights back on and the elves are stomping on the jump ropes.


Giant - OWWWW! That hurt! Are you trying to MAIM ME??!!


Elf 1 (Spirit) - AAAH! Where did you come from?!


Witch (Celeste) - WHO ARE YOU!?


Giant - *cries* First, you try to maim me and now, you question my EXISTENCE! YOU ARE HORRIBLE!


Elf 2 (Wish) - Whatever? What is your name?


Giant - I’m the Christmas Giant and now because Santa has been stolen, it has angered my happy spirit. Move aside, let’s all go and rescue Mr. Santa Claus from Evil Dudette.


Elf 1 (Spirit) - *shrugs* Eh, you’re big. Come along. We could use it.


Christmas Giant - *huge, exasperated gasp* EXCUSE ME?!


Techie comes on and says - Oh! This is getting soooo good. Once again we have to prep for the next scene. Thank you!


Scene 4 - Evil Dude(tte)’s headquarters.


Elf 1 (Spirit) - Let’s get them!


Elf 2 (Wish) - Wait….what is that? A BLACK CHAIR?!


Evil Dude(tte) - *turns around and is petting a stuffed animal* Well, well, well. Look who’s here. Come to save Santa? *baby voice*.


Christmas Giant - *emotional* You have stolen my only reason to live!! How could you?!


Evil Dude(tte) - Yes! You don’t need to live anymore.


Witch (Celeste) - UGH! Give us back Santa or else! 


Evil Dudette - Or else what?


Elf 1 (Spirit) - Or else you get COAL for CHRISTMAS!


Evil Dude(tte) - Like I haven’t gotten it in the past years. Besides, there won’t be a Christmas anyway. It’s already 11:30. I can’t wait to send Santa to SPACE!


Elf 1 (Spirit) - WHAT?!!


Techie cues fighting sound effects. Elf 3 (Jingle) joins this scene and fights too. 


At one point, Elf 1 (Spirit) shoves Evil Dude(tte) down and locks Elf 3 (Jingle) ‘s arms behind his back. Elf 2 (Wish) grabs the wand from his hand and throws it to Witch (Celeste). Christmas Giant jumps around, dancing, and looks like he knows what he’s doing.


Techie cues spell sound effects. Lights turn off. 


Christmas Giant - Good job, guys! We all did it!


Witch (Celeste) - You didn’t even lift a finger. You just pranced around the room. Do you even KNOW how to fight?


Christmas Giant - *stutters* Ugh. Er…..ummmmmmmm?


Elf 1 (Spirit) - Now, let’s go save Santa!


Techie comes up and says - Hang in there tight, one last time.


Scene 5 - Elf 3 (Jingle) and Evil Dude(tte) are tied up.


Santa - Thank you very much! Now I’m off! HO HO HO! MERRY CHRISTMAS. *leaves*


Elf 2 (Wish) - So, what do you have to say for yourself? HUH?!


Evil Dude(tte) - I’m sorry! I just don’t like Christmas because……


Techie shows the flashback video.


VIDEO - Evil Dude(tte) was a nice boy, but no one liked him. On Christmas, no one gave him a present. HE GOT ANGRY!


Christmas Giant - Oh my gosh! A world full of hate and love. You are like a phoenix rising from the ashes the wrong way. How hard it must have been for you. I too have experienced—


Everyone turns their heads to look at the Giant *annoyed* - SHUSH!!!!!!!!!!!!!


Witch (Celeste) - *sighs* I’m sorry!


Elf 1 (Spirit) - I think we’ll forgive you this one time.


Elf 2 (Wish) - Of course!


Evil Dude(tte) - Really? THANK YOU! *Elf 3 (Jingle) looks sad* Oh! Please forgive Jingle too! I threatened him by saying no one would ever love him again if he didn’t help me.


Elf 2 (Wish) - *giggles* Okay, Jingle! This time too!


ELF 3 (JINGLE) STOPS LOOKING SAD!


Christmas Giant - I too want to say. I have truly felt regretful over this whole tragic experience, it has been horrible. Blah Blah Blah…..


Elf 2 (Wish) - Just let him get it over with.


Witch (Celeste) - Just don’t steal my wand.


Elf 3 (Jingle) - *chuckles* Of course. Now, can you untie us, please?


Elf 1 (Spirit) - You got it!


Christmas Giant - Yay for FRIENDSHIP!!


TECHIES HELP THE CAST UNTIE JINGLE AND EVIL DUDE(TTE)!


Techie cues bowing music and everyone bows.


Amulya - Hi everyone! I have been the director of this play! Thank you so much for your time! I truly have enjoyed setting up all the scenes and thank you to the cast for bringing a little idea of mine come ALIVE! Bye!

A Different Day

  On Saturday morning, Tom, Sasha, and their baby sister Olivia were getting ready to go to the beach for a party with their parents. While Sasha did her hair and Olivia babbled in her crib, Tom was helping his parents get everything in the car. He brought the blue cooler filled with sodas, popsicles, and chilled bottled water into their minivan. Then he ran back inside to help with the chairs. As Sasha finished her beautiful silky brown locks of hair, she helped her mother to pack. First, they tended to little Olivia’s bag. Olivia’s diaper bag took most of the space, but there was just enough space to squeeze in her baby lotion, sunscreen, bug spray, an extra onesie, and rubber bands. Tom’s bag was next.   My name is Amulya Kuntamukkala and I’m a 5th grader at Barksdale Elementary in Plano, Texas. Ever since I learnt about nursery rhymes that my mom used to play for me, I was fascinated by the pleasant sound of music and Piano. I found a way to express myself and my feelings through music as I love to create my own music compositions. At times, I found myself singing in the shower and my parents proposed I should sharpen my skills and take voice lessons.  Classical songs are my favorites to play! Sometimes, I like to do a few tricks like playing a nursery rhyme with my hands on it backward or putting my head on the bench and my hands on the Piano which my teacher Ms.Jamie finds very amusing.
