She is kind-hearted, perceptive, and courageous. She ultimately bridges the gap between the two warring royal families and marries King Jonathan. KAI: A sharp-witted and independent horse trader from the outskirts. She is cynical about the monarchy but becomes the King’s mentor and eventual Official Advisor (and wedding officiant).
