Reunion

“I won’t do it! You can’t make me,” Mia argued.

“Puh-leez, you just want to be the teacher’s pet,” Ava complained.

“You’re just trying to make a fool out of me!” Mia stammered.

“Just do it!” Ava egged on.

“Never!” Mia snapped.

It was a typical Saturday morning at 636 Durnham Drive. The two sisters were already up and arguing. Mia and Ava were twin sisters, both 11 going to middle school, or as Ava called it, the “Perfect Prank Place!”.

“Mia, as your elder sister, I command you!” Ava ordered.

“Hah, by 2 minutes!” Mia retorted.

“Girls! You're going to be late for ballet!” Their mother piped in.

In the mid-beginning of the class, Ava went to join Mia.

“You’re a stupid chicken who will never make it to the top!” Ava insulted her sister.

“*gasped* You dare?!” Mia was thunderstruck. Her sister had never said something so rude. Ava walked to the barre and started her pliĆ©s.

Then, horror-struck, the two sisters fought in front of everyone and were sent home. Their mom was cross, and so was Mia.

“Ava, you’re grounded for a week!” their mother declared.

“Whatever for?” queried Ava.

Their mother took a deep breath, “For pulling too many pranks at school, behavior at home, harassing your sister and me, and disrupting the teacher’s dance class.”

“I began to make friends there,” Mia said, her face full of tears,” and you ruined it! The other girls think I’m weird. You don’t know what it feels like, you’re popular and cool, and everyone likes you. Me, I don’t even have a proper hello. Do you know how that feels? And the worst part is, the one person I thought I could trust, the one person I could rely on, stabbed me in the back! I don’t care anymore, don’t talk to me, and stay away from me, guess you're not so cool after all.”

Ava stopped in her tracks, what her sister had said to her felt like piercing ice going into her. She tried to get Mia back, but every attempt turned to vain.
