Dear Diary, I WON THE DISTRICT’S SCIENCE FAIR! 1st place!!!!!!! I am so happy! My teacher even showed a video of the science fair and my classmates were shocked when they saw me on stage! Yay!

Dear Diary, Lily’s moving away! To South Carolina. She was the first friend I made, I’m going to miss her. I need to go, I’m making her a card and a big goodie bag as a present.

She’s heartbroken...I feel so bad for the stuff I said about this girl, she doesn’t deserve this.

Dear Diary, Alicia pushed me today because I accidentally held up the line trying to pick up my watch. Now, my favorite velvet skirt is covered in footmarks. I skinned my knee super bad, and I had to go to the nurse.

A Different Day

  On Saturday morning, Tom, Sasha, and their baby sister Olivia were getting ready to go to the beach for a party with their parents. While Sasha did her hair and Olivia babbled in her crib, Tom was helping his parents get everything in the car. He brought the blue cooler filled with sodas, popsicles, and chilled bottled water into their minivan. Then he ran back inside to help with the chairs. As Sasha finished her beautiful silky brown locks of hair, she helped her mother to pack. First, they tended to little Olivia’s bag. Olivia’s diaper bag took most of the space, but there was just enough space to squeeze in her baby lotion, sunscreen, bug spray, an extra onesie, and rubber bands. Tom’s bag was next. They filled it with his swimming trunks, lotion, sunscreen, bug spray, extra pair of clothes, and inflatable pool floats for Olivia and the other kids going to the beach.   My name is Amulya Kuntamukkala and I’m a 5th grader at Barksdale Elementary in Plano, Texas. Ever since I learnt about nursery rhymes that my mom used to play for me, I was fascinated by the pleasant sound of music and Piano. I found a way to express myself and my feelings through music as I love to create my own music compositions. At times, I found myself singing in the shower and my parents proposed I should sharpen my skills and take voice lessons.  Classical songs are my favorites to play! Sometimes, I like to do a few tricks like playing a nursery rhyme with my hands on it backward or putting my head on the bench and my hands on the Piano which my teacher Ms.Jamie finds very amusing. Piano training has helped me in reading music proficiently. I am taking choir as an elective in middle school to help me read more complex music and improve my voice.
