The Time Machine
Charlotte is a beautiful, smart girl. Always has her nose deep into a history book. The book teleported her to many places. At the signing of “The Declaration of Independence on July 2nd, 1776” or maybe at the “American Revolution”, with the prehistoric time with dinosaurs, with Orville and Wilbur Wright. So many places that just fit in one book!
It was early morning, and Charlotte was at the wishing well with her favorite history book. She took a shiny penny and whispered, “I wish I could get a time machine and I get to travel back in time to see these places.”
Then she dropped the coin and watched it sink in the water until it wasn’t in eyesight anymore. A few weeks later after that moment, Charlotte was sitting at her desk, when white steam appeared out of thin air! A rusted car was sitting in her bedroom! To get a closer look, Charlotte dusted all the brown particles off, and there, it read: Time Machine.
“Whoa, my wish came true! I’ve got an idea! I can test it on my old camera! I’ll make it take a video! I can set it back to a minute ago!” said an amazed Charlotte.
A little later, when all the tests were complete, Charlotte was bursting with excitement.
“It works!!!! I can travel anywhere!!” squealed Charlotte. She climbed inside. “Where to first? I know! To the Declaration of Independence!
Charlotte typed in letters on the keyboard in the machine.
July 2nd, 1776 “The Declaration of Independence”
Then with a sudden bang, the machine sped off! White light and dirt flying everywhere! After 10 minutes, the machine stopped and powered down.
“Mission complete,” it said.
Charlotte stepped out and walked into the building, or whatever it was. She heard overlapped voices and something scratching away. Then, she went into the room, but no one seemed to notice her!
“Hello?” said Charlotte.
But no one answered. She looked at herself, she was invisible!
“Huh,” said an awed Charlotte. “EEEEEEEEEH!!!!!! HISTORY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I need to take notes! Write everything down!!!”
After 15 minutes, the founding fathers took a break and departed.
5 YEARS LATER…
Charlotte was 14 years old now, but she now was busier, and the time machine wasn’t used as much as before. She had a little brother named Jack, who was a bit cheeky, but cute.
“Oooh! New inventions are around the corner!” said Charlotte. Jack, however, looked up and stopped playing with his truck.
“Noo! I want everything to be the same!!! No no no!!” yelled Jack.
“Stop crying, Jacky!” said Charlotte.
“No Jacky! I don’t want that nickname!” said Jack.
So that night, Jack snuck into Charlotte’s room, pulled the secret door, to go into the future and destroy all the new inventions.
“Buttons, buttons, push them all!” Jack sang.
But he opened a portal and the whole time machine malfunctioned! WHOOSH!
“AAAAAAAH The machine is eating me!!!” he screamed.
“Jack! What are you doing?!” shouted Charlotte.
Then, she grabbed hold of Jack’s legs, but the time machine pulled her inside too..where did the 2 siblings go?
