There once was a girl named Meredith Michelle, she spent her time in the world going for walks, studying, writing and other sorts of things. One day when Meredith was 9 a letter from the mailbox had arrived it read:
Dear Meredith Michelle, you have been picked to go to Magic Academy 20 miles from your home. For starters you will need a few pets, the rest we will be providing.
See you there!
Headmaster Willows
I read the letter, “Mother! Father! There is a school invite letter in the mailbox!” she yelled.
“Stop yelling dear! You don’t want to bring us a bad name.” Yelped her mother.
“Sorry Mother.” I apologized.
“Oh my, Magic Academy, you do need some schooling I guess it will have to do, let’s get you some pets shall we?” Said her father.
“It says I will need at least 4 pets. That’s a lot.” I said.
Cuddling my cute animals I thought of names, Rover and Clover the bunnies, Rainbow the garden dragon and Midnight the horse.
“Perfect!” I thought.
Soon it was time to get packed up and ready for school. I packed my school dress, 3 pairs of socks, 10 T-shirts and 2 other dresses. They had to go in a van, it had a cart where all my animals rested. I had to sit with them because there was not a lot of space in the car. When they reached there someone tapped on my shoulder. She was a thin lady with round glasses with a warm smile.
“Hello you must be Meredith Michelle, I am Headmaster Willows, Ah I see you have your pets, the staff will take them to their homes. You are in room #10 with another girl Diamond Mackenzie. Your wand and your other supplies will be handed out tomorrow, which will be the first day of Magic Academy, see you there!”
“Bye mother bye father!” I said as I trotted into school. As I got inside I saw Diamond already unpacking her stuff, she turned to see me as the door made a creaking sound.
“So you're a new girl I was here last year, my name’s Diamond Mackenzie what’s yours?” she told me.
“Umm.. I am Meredith Michelle and yes I am new.”
“If we are in the same door room we have the same classes, I can show you around after unpacking and tomorrow we can walk together for classes.” she said.
“Thank you for helping me.” I replied.
Diamond smiled wider this time, after unpacking she showed me around.
“This room is where we go after the cafeteria where we eat breakfast and lunch, I will show you later, the headmaster says announcements here, this is the first class of the day where we learn how to defend ourselves with magic, this is potion class which is the second class of the day and this one is my favorite you get to team up with another person and you take your pets and battle creatures. Then we eat lunch at the cafeteria and then we retire to our room for a 30 minute break then the last class of the day is learning how to fly a broom. After that we have free time where we can go outside, play with our pets, color and draw, then dinner and we go to are rooms take a shower and get ready for our bed and if we have some extra time we can talk together and then the matron comes to check on us and tell us it is time for bed. On the weekends we’re allowed to go to town.”
“Wow! It’s getting late so we should head back to our room but let's stop at the talking station so we can call our parents and wish them goodnight.” I said.
“Sure, let's go!” Diamond replied.
After we got in our room, I chatted with Diamond and then the matron came to tell us it was time for bed. The next day the bell rang and we had to get ready for school. In the room there was a secret passageway which led to 2 changing rooms and a shower, mostly the bathroom. I grabbed my school dress and got into a closet and I quickly put it on.
“Let’s go!” said Diamond.
“Okay,” I replied.
We headed to the cafeteria to eat breakfast. They were serving eggs, waffles, pancakes, white and chocolate milk and some oatmeal. I didn’t want to eat junk food so I grabbed a plate, took some white milk, an egg and a scoop of oatmeal. Diamond had the same. The bell rang again so Diamond and I both walked towards the announcement room. Over 100 students were already seated, we found two seats and the front so we sat in them. Headmaster Willows walked to the mic, used her magic to turn it on and began talking.
“Hello everyone! I am Headmaster Willows, I run the school, welcome the Magic Academy, I mustn't make you late for your classes but I have a few rules to tell you, there shall be no sneaking around after curfew got it? And please keep in mind to feed your pets everyday, also no pushing and shoving and if you explored the way around great, but if you didn’t please get a map on the way out. Off you go!”said Headmaster Willows.
Me and Diamond walked to Defend class.
“Hello, welcome! I am Soldier Solid, I will be teaching this class. Please raise your hand if you want to give out wands,” said the teacher
I reluctantly raised my hand.
“What’s your name miss?” asked Soldier Solid
“Meredith Michelle.”
“Well please grab the box from the supply closet and hand everyone a wand, don't forget you!” Soldier Solid said again.
The supply closet was a thin place with 2 small cupboards at the bottom, the wands were in a cabinet at the top, I used my tippy toes to reach them. I got the box and blew the dust and began handing everything out. When we all got situated Soldier Solid showed us some spells to use, an hour or so passed by and the bell rang.
“Bye class!”
“Well I guess that was kind of fun,” I said
“Well ya but wait until you see the 3rd class, ooh so much fun! Do you want to team up?” Diamond asked
“I’d be happy to, after all you did showing me around it is the least I could do.” I replied.
We went inside just in time, as the bell rang.
“Hello I am Professor Lunaria, as you see there are a lot of beakers and potions in this room, let us begin.”
“What is the first potion?” another student asked.
“It is an invisibility potion, what do we need to make it?”
Diamond’s hand shot up like it was on fire or something.
“Diamond, what do we need?”Professor Lunaria asked.
“We need a sting of a bee, eye of a newt, hairs of a spider, skin of a snake, tongue of a gecko and that’s all!”she quickly said.
“Let’s see if you are correct.”said Lunaria
She grabbed them all from bottles and carefully dropped them in a bowl, she mashed them up first and mixed them until it became a flowing pink potion, then she grabbed a toothpick and sprinkled some on it, it became invisible!
“Now it will be back to normal in about 15 minutes.”
On and on Professor Lunaria showed us more potions, soon the bell rang and it was time for lunch.
“What do you think they will be serving?” I asked.
“I dunno, usually it is salad, rice, beans and other sorts of things.” answered Diamond.
For lunch there was corn soup and rice and beans. Once lunch was over we headed to our room to take a break. Inside the room I saw something glitter in the corner of my eye.
“What’s that?”
“That is for the 3rd class, I actually forgot to mention if your animals touch it, they will turn magical.”said Diamond.
“Wow!” I said.
“Anyways grab it and let’s go!” Diamond said joyfully.
“Hello, ready for some adventures? I am Mr. Rapid, please get your pets and team up, I hope you haven’t forgotten your crystals!” said the teacher.
We walked to the barn and saw our pets there, I saw Diamond had 2 hawks, a horse and a wolf cub!
“These are my pets, Lucky and Lea the hawks, Buddy the wolf cub and Sunlight because she is light yellow like the sun.” Diamond exclaimed.
“Wow they are lovely, these are my pets, Rover and Clover the bunnies, Rainbow the garden dragon and Midnight the horse because she is pure black.” I replied
“Nice, now let’s go!” Diamond says.
I sprinkled some of the potion on my animals. We entered the pretend world. We battled a lot of creatures. Soldier Solid’s class really helped. But we couldn’t defeat the Mystic Creature. The time ended and Mr. Rapid said it was okay not to defeat some creature.
We retired to our door rooms. 2 hours later school ended and me and Diamond went around the Magic School town like Hogsmeade in Harry Potter (I read it a lot) I saw something strange. It was an all black creature, it was doing something but I couldn’t see what. Anyway I was discussing it with Diamond after dinner. The matron came in and we shut our mouths about it, we didn’t want to gossip right in front of her. We pretended to say normal stuff like today was fun and stuff like that.
“Good night my dears. No more exploring for today.” she said.
She turned the light off and left. But I was wide awake thinking about that creature.
