I walk to the bus with my head drooping. Here is what happened earlier. My name is Addison Meadows. I am 11 years old and I am in 5th grade. I was drawing a picture of a landscape, I added a bit of blending sky, birds in the sky and some animals. “How’s your painting coming Ashley”? I ask my best friend “Why don’t you have a look”. Answers Ashley. I go over to her table and drop my brush, her painting looks so realistic, she painted Abraham Lincoln in black and white paint. I go from the 1st row to the last and stare at realistic paintings. Here are some paintings I saw, Stone Park, The Blend River and other stuff. Jean Paul walks over to my painting and yells “Everyone come look at the silly painting Addison drew”! Everyone goes to my painting and starts giggling and whispering. I want to yell back at Jean Paul but I just keep quiet. Even Ashley makes some hurtful comments to my painting. I walk over to the other side of the room and sit at a desk. I put my head down and sigh. Just a few weeks ago I started living in Utah. Before that I lived in Washington D.C with all my old friends. Their names are Ava, Lucy, Luna and Silvie. So that is how I end up now. I go to the back of the bus. I take out my phone to text my mom. She just texted me a minute earlier. I look over the seat in front of me to see Ashley passing out birthday invitations. She gave it to everyone on the bus, well, not me she skipped my row and no one sat next to me. “I am not good at anything,” I say to myself. Once the bus drops me off I go to my room and flop on my bed, I groan. My sister Madison goes into the room. She’s in high school. “What’s wrong sweetie”? She asks. “You don’t have the right to call me that”! I yell. I dash over to the list of names I don’t like to be called. This is the 10th time I’ve read it to her. “Okay Okay”. Madison yelps. I go start my 5 sheets of homework. I start doing my homework. Mom comes home in an hour and we have dinner. I am quiet as a butterfly. After dinner I go for a walk. I see a poster saying that my school is having a Talent show. I was just about to rip the paper when my mom said “Honey this is perfect for you to make new friends”! I give a sarcastic look. “Join the talent show”? Mom says with a pleading face. “Okay”. I said. Once I walk back home, I call Ava, Luna, Lucy and Silvie. I go to my table and cross out Art on my list that makes me happy. There was 1 thing left I didn't try. It was writing. I grabbed my computer and started typing, I wrote a story about a girl who feels like she isn’t good. She then finds her secret strength. She feels happy when she reads. After that it’s time for bed. I walk slowly to the bed. I hop in and turn off the night light. I haven't gone to bed for a long time. In the morning my eyes are droopy and I stare at the ceiling. “You're going to be late Addison”! Mom hollers from downstairs. I get up and slowly walk downstairs. I drink a smoothie and get my backpack. I get into the bus and sit in the back. Ashley sits next to me and I wanna push her off the seat but I don’t. Suddenly she gets up and goes somewhere. Once school started I had butterflies in my stomach. I gulp and slowly go into school. Jean Paul whispers and I put my head down. I slowly walk to my classroom and everyone is practicing for the talent show. I go sit at my desk and pull out my story. I read it in a whispering voice. I look at some of my classmates' talents and here are some I saw. Sophie does DJ'ing, Ashley does water music, Jean Paul can shoot a pretend arrow with his eyes closed and Alexa can do gymnastics. In an hour or so 455 children sat in the assembly hall and the principal walked on to the stage and said “Welcome to our 10th annual talent show”! Many children cheered and clapped. The principal took out her list and called “Let’s give it up for Addison Meadows”! Some people cheer. My heart is racing and my hands are shaking but I take out my paper and read my story. I then ran out of the stage back to my seat. After the principal calls names it is time to see who got 1st place. “I can’t believe it”! I thought. Cheer rose upon the students, I had gotten 1st place. I even realize I am squealing. I dash to the stage to get the trophy but Jean Paul trips me. He takes a mike on the side table of the stage and steps on the stage. He says mean things about me and declares he should get the trophy. As soon as someone says no he snatches the trophy and runs out of the assembly hall. I don’t know what happened to him but I did get my trophy back. My mom and Madison hug me. They were at the back watching me. A little girl walks over to me and asks me to sign my name on a picture. So I did. Then the little girl walked away. After that I started making lots of friends. I had finally found my secret strength - Writing. I realized how it felt really good. I learned that everyone is good at something. You all don’t have to be the same. The outside is different, but the inside is always the same.

I wrote this story to show that not anyone can be the same. We all are good at different things. We really don’t have to be the same. Don’t change your true life into someone else's, be you.

Mango vs Banana

Mango Side Mango is a very nutritious fruit. It is used in many ways. Why you should eat Mango is because it helps with your digestion system in your body. It adds a glow to the skin and contains a lot of Vitamin C and Vitamin A. Mango is used in many ways to make mango lassi, mango cake, ice cream, etc. Mangos give a lot of magnesium and potassium and fiber and antioxidants. We can use Bananas in many ways like Banana Bread, ice cream, banana chips, banana pancakes, etc. Surely everyone’s favorite is banana split, it’s a yummy ice cream. Mango split doesn’t sound as good in my opinion. Bananas contain a lot of nutrients and they can help with weight loss. Bananas help you feel full. It also provides Vitamin A. So what is your favorite fruit? Mango or Banana?

How Gracie and Grassy Met Siddhu and Vedu

Gracie was collecting food with Grassy when a strong wind blew. Gracie got picked up in the wind and headed towards the park in the distance. Grassy tried to keep up but the wind blew too fast. Meanwhile Siddhu and Vedu were playing in the park, well they were looking at bugs. They had a magnifying glass. Suddenly the wind let go of Gracie.
