Crow Learns That Other People Matter Too
Crow was a careless and selfish bird who thought only about himself and no one else. He thought he only mattered and everyone had to obey him. All the other animals stayed away from him. He got very angry that everyone was ignoring him. He called his partner the eagle to capture everyone. The eagle obeyed his command so Crow thought he was the greatest animal in the world. By sunset the eagle had captured 3 animals : A Wood Stork, a Rabbit and a Squirrel. Crow said “You must obey me. I am very powerful and you are nothing. You don’t matter. I matter because I am good at everything and you are good at nothing”. The animals got very scared and promised to obey him. A few days later there was a race where animals had to pass a button. Crow decided to compete because he thought he was the best. Crow thought hard about his team. He decided to make his team the eagle, his mother and him. So he and his team went to sign up. After they signed up they were handed the rules which were these.
No Flying is allowed
No Cheating
Have Fun
After reading the rules he saw the squirrel and wood stork and the rabbit signing up. So he went up to them and said “You guys are going down”! “Not if you guys are going down first”! Says the rabbit. “Oh yeah”! Says Crow “Oh Yeah”! Says the rabbit. So Crow goes with his team to the warm up area. They did all sorts of warming up stuff. Finally it was time for the race. Crow’s mother and the squirrel were against each other, the eagle and the rabbit were against each other and the wood stork and Crow were against each other. After that the Relay Race started! The squirrel was super quick and easily got past Crow’s mother. The rabbit hopped as fast as its paws could take it. By the time the wood stork was given the button, Crow’s mother had just finished and given it to the eagle. By the time Crow got it, the other team had won. The eagle and Crow’s mother went to congratulate the other team. Crow stopped them and blamed them for being slowpokes. Then the squirrel went up to him and said “Stop being so unkind and selfish”. Crow walked away. The next day there was a rock, paper, scissors challenge. So Crow signed up. So did the eagle and Crow’s mother. In the first round the eagle beat Crow. The second round Crow’s mother beat Crow. Everyone got a trophy except Crow. Now Crow was feeling bad. He said “I am the only one who hasn’t come in first place to last place. I thought I was the winner”. But the others did not say “You are a loser”! Instead they didn’t make him feel bad. Then the wood stork said, “There is an art competition where 4 animals can be a group. You are great at art. You should join us”. Crow took a deep breath and said sorry to the others and said yes. A day later Crow and the rabbit and the wood stork and the squirrel had a meeting on what to do. Crow said “Blending Colors”! The rabbit said “A landscape”! The wood stork said “Birds in the sky”! “Animals singing songs with a rainbow on the top”! The animals argued for hours about which was the best. But then Crow got an idea and said “What about a landscape with animals on it singing and a blending sky with birds singing to and a rainbow”? Everyone liked Crow’s idea and set to work. In 2 days of hard work they were done. Then they went to turn in there art work and sat in the room to see who one. A few hour later the judges announced the winner which was Crow, the rabbit, the wood stork and the squirrel! Crow took the prize along with his new friends and everyone applauded for them. From that day on wards Crow was selfless, careful, encouraging and kind. That is because of his new friends, Rabbit, Squirrel, and Wood Stork.
