The Baking Mystery
As the school bell rang, Miss Carson waved goodbye. Sophie Coleman picked up all her supplies, it was a big holiday. Summer Break! She was going to 5th grade, Sophie was a great detective and helped with cases. She knew that there was a baking competition each year in Summer. Her friend Naomi was competing with the most talented bakers ever! The next day she went to the competition, the bakers had 3 hours to prepare a dish for the judges to try and observe. She went to Naomi and she saw she was just standing there, her mouth was wide open and she was looking horrified at the floor. There Sophie saw a 5 layered cake with a smashed statue on top with some icing everywhere. “What happened?” Asked Sophie. Naomi looked up at her like she was trying to say something but she couldn’t.
